A trip to Portugal isn’t complete without a stop in the beautiful Algarve. The south of Portugal is home to an outstanding luxury Algarve beach resort you’ll love. I know we enjoyed every minute of our stay and didn’t want to leave. If you are a foodie, like sunshine and appreciate a pool with a view, this hotel will not disappoint. VILA VITA Parc Resort & Spa is one of the best places to stay in Algarve Portugal for many reasons, which I’ll share in this post. The resort is located between Lagos and Albufeira, about a 45 minutes drive from the airport. We spent 3 days in Lisbon before heading over to the Algarve and planned to fly. Unfortunately, our flight got delayed, and we decided to drive instead. I would highly recommend driving over flying if your vacation starts in Lisbon, it’s so much easier and only 2.5 hours.
Vila Vita Parc In The Algarve Region of Portugal
Beach at Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa
I found out that there are no private beaches in Portuga, which means a resort cannot prohibit beach access to non-guests. If you’ve been to Portugal, you know how crowded the beaches can get. There’s nothing worse than having people at arm’s reach all around you while you are trying to enjoy a relaxing day at the beach. Good news is, you don’t have to worry about this at Vila Vita Park because the beach is in a cove. Access to Praia dos Beijinhos and Praia dos Tremoços is not easy from outside this Algarve beach resort. The beach will feel private since very few people will go through the trouble of getting there.
Algarve Beach Resort With Tons to Offer
Vila Vita Parc is situated on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The resort is secluded but not too removed from all the great restaurants in the area. If you are looking for peace and quiet, beautiful hotel grounds, great food and service, this is your Algarve resort of choice.
If you are into golf, tennis or water sports, this Algarve beach resort has it all. Play golf with a professional, get private tennis lessons from a pro, or if you are into water sports, there’s water skiing, snorkelling and much more.
Vila Vita Parc Rooms & Villas
We stayed in the Oasis Suite Premium and although this is one of the best Algarve resorts, our room was a little dated. Despite the lack of modern décor, it was spotless and comfortable. If you aren’t one to pack light, the closet space could accommodate your entire wardrobe and then some. There are many different suites, some with ocean views and others with garden views. If you are looking for something a little more private, there are four villas with private pools that can accommodate from four to 12 guests.
Best Place to Stay in the Algarve Portugal if you are a Foodie
Vila Vita Park is home to 6 bars and 10 restaurants, you don’t ever have to leave the resort. We tried to book the two-Michelin star restaurant ahead of time, but unfortunately, there was no room. We did dine at the Whale Restaurant for lunch, and it was terrific. The menu offers something for everyone, from a raw bar to pizza and pasta.
We also dined at two excellent restaurants outside the resort that I highly recommend. Vila Joya, a two-Michelin star restaurant, offers a chef’s table experience and outdoor dining with a stunning view of the ocean. We opted for the chef’s table experience and had the whole kitchen to ourselves. There’s nothing better than watching a talented team prepare your meal from start to finish. A seat at the chef’s table is the ultimate foodie experience, especially when the food is top notch. Be warned, it is a lot of food, and I mean A LOT.
The second restaurant is called Bon Bon, a one-Michelin star that is only a 15-minutes drive from Vila Vita Parc. The hubby did not enjoy it as much as I did since there were too many fish dishes. The six-course tasting menu was our choice, and of course, I had to complement the meal with the wine pairing. I discovered a few more Portuguese wines that I think you’ll also love. You can read more about Portuguese wines on this post: Wines of Portugal: A Wine Guide for Dummies.
The Spa at Vila Vita Parc
What is a relaxing getaway without spending time at the spa? It’s something we both enjoy, but especially the hubby. We booked our treatment at the last minute and didn’t have any issues selecting the time we wanted or the treatment. The VITAL Spa underwent some major renovations over the summer which should be completed by September 2018. Following the million course chef’s table meal I decided on the Green Coffee Body Sculpting Treatment, which is said to reduce puffiness and bloating. Carl chose a relaxing massage but wasn’t as pleased with the experience as I was.
A Family Friendly Algarve Beach Resort
This is for all the parents who tell me how exhausting it is to travel with kids. Vila Vita Parc is family friendly and offers a Crèche for children aged 6 months to 3 years. Their trained staff can look after your little one(s) while you relax by the pool and recharge your depleted parenting batteries. For those who want to enjoy a romantic dinner for two, there is also a babysitting service available on request. For older kids, 4 to 11 years old, there is Annabela's Kids Park which hosts tons of fun activities.
And these are all the reasons why Vila Vita Parc is an outstanding luxury Algarve beach resort you’ll love! If you are still wondering where to stay in the Algarve, I hope I’ve convinced you that this is your best option. We would definitely return and encourage anyone who hasn’t been yet to do so.
