Spain is always top of my list, we’ve been five times in 1.5 years and I still can’t get enough! So why not visit Barcelona a second time?! Since our first trip was spent sightseeing we decided to plan a more leisurely stay this time around. That usually involves lounging by the pool sipping on cocktails and some fine dinning. A weekend at The W Barcelona Hotel is the perfect place to indulge in a little rest and relaxation.
The W Hotel Barcelona is about 25 minutes from the airport during non-peak times making it perfect for weekend getaways.

W Barcelona Hotel Cool Corner Suite
We decided to indulge a little and booked the Cool Corner Suite; and cool it was! The newly renovated rooms are designed to perfection; they are playful yet sophisticated. In addition, the suite boasts floor to ceiling windows with uninterrupted panoramic views of the Balearic Sea. Accent pillows showcasing modern images of iconic characters from Barcelona adds a little history to the space. Signature W amenities from Bliss are available in much larger formats than most other hotel amenities. These include lemon & sage body butter, body wash, super shine shampoo and conditioner, fabulous foaming face wash and more. We also found a nice welcome note with a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us in the living room area. It’s all in the details!
Private WOW Cabana
Since lounging poolside all day Saturday was on the agenda we rented a cabana. There are two pools at The W Barcelona Hotel; the WET pool and terrace and the SUN DECK which offers a private infinity pool and is less crowded. Three WOW cabanas are available to rent daily in the Sun Deck area with views of the Barceloneta beach. The only downside of SUN DECK is that the sun disappears between approximately 2-5pm. The WOW Cabana accommodates up to 6 people, you have access to a minibar with water and soft drinks as well as a TV and audio system. Everything you need for a day in the sun!
Enoteca Paco Pérez Restaurant
My heart was set on Tickets Bar; no. 25 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list! I was convinced my husband had secured a reservation but it turns out we were on the wait list! With only a week remaining until our trip to Barcelona I was on a mission to find the next best option. Enoteca Paco Pérez is a two Michelin star restaurant located in the Hotel Arts Barcelona. It focuses on freshness from the sea and seasonal Mediterranean local farm and mountain products. We opted for the tasting menu and I had the choice between a Spanish wine pairing or a selection of international wines. Since we were in Spain I chose the Spanish wine pairing to complement the Mediterranean dishes. This restaurant did not make The Chieff’s Best Restaurant top 10 list. The most noteworthy dishes of the night:
